Second- & Third-Year Business Students Tour Behind the Scenes of Jaguar Land Rover
On Thursday 9th February, Business & Entrepreneurship students headed to Solihull to have a behind the scenes factory tour of Jaguar Land Rover.
The visit was part of second- & third-year Enterprise modules run in collaboration with Student Enterprise and the Lincoln International Business School, which offers students opportunities to harness their entrepreneurial skills and think like a business owner.
The visit consisted of a three-hour tour to see the manufacturing of the New Range Rover, this also included the Kingmakers Exhibition and Final Assembly of the vehicle.
โOur visit to Jaguar Land Rover allowed the students to gain a behind the scenes view of the operational processes and activities behind one of the worldโs largest companies,โ comments Reece Leggett, Student Enterprise Co-ordinator, โthey were able to take away the importance of operational excellence, supply chain management & achieving excellent customer satisfaction.
Ryan Ellis, a second-year student, commented: โThe Jaguar Land Rover trip was very interesting and enjoyable, the scale of the production as well as the way that machines were used in the production process was fascinating. Additionally, the tour also showcased the companyโs history, enabling visualisation of the companyโs inner workings throughout the years.โ
The Student Enterprise team look forward to facilitating more opportunities for our students to visit forward-thinking, growing UK businesses, across a variety of sizes and sectors.
